The DASH

An A - Z of a life well lived.

The dash is a metaphor for life because it separates the date of birth from the date of death on your tombstone.
The only thing we know for certain when we arrive on this earth is that one day we will leave it! What we do with our life (however long that may be) is up to us so why not create a "dash" of significance.
The book is a wonderful easy to read group of inspirational chapters starting with A for Attitude and finishing with Z for ?? Perfect for a bedside read and a thoughtful gift for Christmas.Book cover

Testimonials

Reading your book made me think about my life; the type of person I was, what I wanted to achieve and what I had achieved so far. I really enjoyed it because it gave me an insight into a lot of information that will help me to conquer my dreams and be the best person that I can be. You truly are a very wise man Russell Reardon and I am grateful for being able to benefit from your knowledge and wisdom.’
Angela Reardon - daughter and office manager - London UK

"I've had the great pleasure of knowing Rusty Reardon for almost 30 years and 'The Dash" epitomises the way
he lives his life. Russell gives everything 110%, from his business life to his social life, his relationships and even
his golf (this does not always translate into his scores though), he lives every day as if it's his last and he is
truly an example of "a life well lived"

Murray Ball, Business Owner, Brisbane.

Russell, I finished your book today and thought it one of the most inspirational books I've read. "The Dash" is exceptional - it was light reading from start to finish and allowed me to look at my own life from what you wrote. I honestly found that my life has been lived much to the same degree to what you are encouraging and even though I may not have acquired great financial wealth I do count my family and friends as assets that outweigh monetary benefits.
This book should be required reading for all college freshmen in order for them to put their lives into perspective before they even enter the room for their very first class.

Van Henshaw, Columbus, Georgia, USA

Russell, your life is an extraordinary collage of moments and experiences. "The Dash" is one of those great books that remind us to take a moment every day, be grateful for the time we are here and make a conscious decision to embrace every day to fulfill our true purpose and destiny.
John Logar, Philosopher, Brisbane

To those about to buy this book you are doing yourselves a favour! I have known Russ for many years and he has packed this book full of the best he has learned on his life's journey to date. He has skilfully distilled the wisdom from the people he has met, the experiences he has had and added his own personal take on things. Russ is a success because of what he has learned and how he generously shares it.
Remember they never put your bank balance on your tombstone - you are judged by the number of people at the ceremony and the number of columns in the paper. Re-read this book when you too, need some "possibility thinking"

John Harris, Australian Building ideas Centre, Hobart

The Dash is a simple, practical yet powerful book that really is a guide on how to live a fulfilling life! You can open the book at any page and get inspiration or a few wise words to get your mind set for the day. Russell has really packed years of experience, knowledge and wisdom into a book that is suitable for anyone of any age. It's a must for any bookshelf!

I really got a lot out of the evening… the book itself is practical and very down to earth wisdom that can really be put to great use in life… and it’s an easy read! I would read anything Russell has to say… this is a man that lives his word…. Then writes about it! The book, the evening… the man himself – inspirational!!! Thank you… for the gift you have ALWAYS been in my life Russ…
Tamsyn Rosenberg. Mullumbimby.

When it comes to expanding the possibilities in your life I have found that Russell Reardon has an extraordinary gift. He touches your heart when he speaks and he expands your mind with his writings. As much as I have always enjoyed the magical content of Russell’s e-newsletters, I was enthralled with his new book ‘The Dash’ and could not put it down until I had read it all in one session of less than a couple of hours. When he asked me to attend at his book launch I jumped at the chance, and was not disappointed as I heard first hand the reasoning behind the book being created and the journey of Russell’s life that he was readily sharing for the betterment of each of our own life’s. If you can buy the book grab it. . . .If you can get the book as a result of attending at one of Russell’s book launch functions better still. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!”

WOW – The Dash is certainly well worth reading! Russell has done a great job of putting his experiences down on paper with a view to motivate and inspire you to live a fuller and more meaningful life, and it will have an impact on your perspective. This book is a must for everyone, and I agree with Van Henshaw - that all college freshmen should be required to read this. Bottom line – this is highly recommended reading and it won’t take you long because you’ll want to finish the book!

Russell’s book is an “in vivo” confirmation of the principles which, in various guises, underlie the basic construct of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). That is, it is one’s thoughts/self talk that provides us with the power to move us forwards towards our goals (assuming we have some)….or not! For some 20 years now, working in the field of psychology, I find that, on any given day, I am quoting one or two or more of the self same “quotable quotes” that Russ has utilised at the beginning of his chapters. The elucidation of these constructs through Russ’ own life experiences, bear testimony to their efficacy. This book is proof positive of a “Can Do” motto that has taken Russ to the point of being able to give real meaning to his “-“. Let's hope that as this book begins to circulate, it will add meaning to the "-" s of a lot more people, especially our youth in their turn, as it is their "Can Do" attitude that will be sorely needed, as we move on into an even more fragile world.
